英语作为国际通用语背景下的语用失误新解

摘　　要：英语已成为当今国际政治、经济、社会、文化、教育等领域的国际通用语。目前学界关于英语作为国际通用语的研究主要集中在语音特征、词汇句法、会话结构、交际策略等方面,尚无研究探讨国际通用语背景下的语用失误问题。本文首先指出,原有基于英语本族语者交际的语用规范不适合用来指导国际通用语背景下的英语交际,接着对国际通用语背景下的语用失误进行了界定和分类,最后为新形势下的语用教学提出了参考性建议。English has developed into a lingua franca in such domains as politics,economy,society,culture,and education today.Existing research on English as a lingua franca（ELF）,how ever,has been focused primarily on issues like phonetic features,vocabulary and grammar,conversational structures,conversational strategies and so on,w ith little attention paid to the issue of pragmatic failure in the context of ELF communication.In view of this,this paper presents a new definition for pragmatic failure,w hile pointing out the pragmatic norms appropriate to the communication among native speakers of English is not suitable for that in the ELF context.Then,it discusses its major types and concludes by offering several proposals on pragmatic teaching in the ELF context.
