摘　　要：中世纪是一个高度分裂、分权的社会,其理论基础是教皇基拉西乌斯一世在公元五世纪提出的"双剑说",即"上帝的事情归上帝,该撒的事情归该撒"。这种"权力二元论理论"对中世纪乃至整个西方社会都产生了持久而深远的影响,在教育领域则表现为两种不同类型的教育:宗教教育和世俗教育。中世纪大学脱胎于教会,不过大学从一开始就表现出与传统教会学校不同的特质,这从它的课程设置可见一斑;世俗教师和修士教师之间的斗争,从另一方面说明中世纪大学究其本质是世俗学校而不是教会大学。Middle Ages is a highly fragmented and decentralized society,which based on the theoreticalfoundation of＂double swords＂that Pop Sanctus Gelasius raised in the fifth century to announce＂Pay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar——and God what belongs to God＂.The＂dualism power theory＂has had a lasting and profound impact on the Middle Ages as well as the whole Western society,which reflecting on the field of education is manifested as two different types：religious education and secular education.The medieval university born out from church,but the universities exhibit different characteristics from traditional church schools at the very beginning,which represented in its curriculum.Furthermore,the struggle between secular teachers and monks is another evidence to show its is secular nature rather than Christian Universities.
