摘　　要：林德曼是美国第一位系统论述成人教育哲学思想的学者,是进步主义成人教育哲学代表人物之一,其代表作《成人教育的意义》对成人教育的诸多问题进行哲学思考,具有前瞻性。本文对《成人教育的意义》的写作背景、理论来源及其哲学思想进行探讨,分析其对当下成人教育发展的价值和启示。Lindeman is the first scholar who discusses the philosophy of adult education systematically in the United States.He is one of the representative figures of the progressivism adult education philosophy,his writing of The Meaning of Adult Educationis prospective and carries philosophy thinking on many problems of adult education.This paper explores the writing background,theoretical origin and philosophy thinking of The Meaning of Adult Educationand analyses its value and inspiration for the development of adult education.
