摘  要:基于文秋芳思辨能力三层级理论模型,以福建省应用型高校240名英语教师和221名其他文科专业教师为被试对象,自编量表调查了福建省应用型高校英语教师思辨能力情况,结果表明:福建省应用型高校英语教师思辨能力整体上显著低于同类高校其他文科专业教师;英语教师年龄与思辨能力显著负相关;英语教师教育(研究)层次与思辨能力显著正相关;采用CBI、PBL等非传统教学方法的教师,其思辨能力显著高于采用传统教学方法的教师。为提升福建省应用型高校英语教师的思辨能力,应多为英语教师创造进修机会,加强对高级职称英语教师的聘后管理,以督促他们多出科研成果,同时也应加强对年龄较大教师的非传统教学方法的培训。Based on the conceptual framework composed by Professor Wen Qiufang for assessing critical thinking skills of Chinese collage students, with 240 English teachers and 221 teachers of other literal arts majors in application-oriented universities of Fujian Province as participants, a questionnaire was made to investigate their critical thinking skills. The findings are as follows: first, the critical thinking skills of English teachers in application-oriented universities of Fujian Province is significantly lower than that for teachers of other literal arts majors. Second, the age of English teachers has significant negative correlation with their critical thinking skills. Third, the academic and educational level of English teachers has positive correlation with their critical thinking skills. Fourth, those who adopt non-traditional methodologies such as PBL and CBI has significant higher critical thinking skills than those who use traditional ones. Based on those findings, three strategies are proposed to improve the critical thinking skills for English teachers in application-oriented universities of Fujian Province. Above all, more opportunities should be created for English teachers for the sake of their further study. Besides, a more vigorous management of English teachers with senior professional titles is needed so that they will be morefruitful in scientific research. Finally, elderly English teachers ought to be trained to adopt methodologies such as CBI and PBL.
