摘　　要：平衡轮转教学模式(Balanced Rotational Instruction Model/BRIM),对美国社区英语识字学习产生了重大作用。该教学模式的特征:以坚实的理论为根基,强调生生互动;突显个性化、多元化教学;彰显"合作学习"的特色;注重运用现代教学媒体,注重与时俱进。BRIM强调对教学环境的规划与布局。在教学设计中注重教师与学生的角色分工、精心设计教学内容及过程以推进教学活动的有效进行。BRIM实践成效主要表现在学生英语词汇习得、听说读写能力发展、其他各学科学习等方面。我国英语识字教学可以借鉴BRIM模式,并结合我国英语教学具体实际,促进BRIM在我国英语识字学习的本土化。The Balanced Rotational Instruction Model（BRIM） has made a great difference among American community English literacy learning. BRIM is based on a firm theoretical foundation, emphasizes student-student interaction, highlights personalized and diversified teaching and cooperative learning;It also focus on the use of modern teaching media, paying attention to keeping pace with the times. Moreover, BRIM emphasizes the layout of teaching environment. As to the teaching design,it distinguishes the roles of teachers and students, arranges the contents and process to make it work effectively. BRIM has made great effects in English vocabulary acquisition, the development of listening-speaking-reading-writing and other subjects learning. From the research, we can draw something useful from BRIM and contribute to the innovation of English literacy learning in China.
