摘  要:"尽性""新民"(变化气质)、"君子不器"与"知行合一"是中国传统的修身精神理念,大学通识教育应该以这些理念为基本精神价值维度。"尽性"奠定了通识教育的价值根基,"新民"是通识教育的目的,"君子不器"是通识教育的基本理念,"知行合一"是通识教育的完成。The followings, i.e. "Trying all one' s natural ability", "Renovating the people" ( the chan- ging temperament), "The Superior Man is not a utensil", and "The unity of knowing and doing", are the conceptions of self - cultivation spirit of Chinese tradition, which college's general education shall take as its basic spirit value dimensions. "Trying all one's natural ability" has lays the value foundation for general education, while "renovating the people" is the aim of general education. That "The Superior Man is not a utensil" is the basic conception of general education, while "the unity of knowing and doing" shows the result of general education.
