论纽曼的理想大学观及对我国“双一流”建设的启示

摘　　要：约翰·亨利·纽曼是英国19世纪著名的教育家,1852年任职于都柏林大学校长后所做的一系列演讲在世界高等教育史上产生了重要的影响.其提出的大学为传授知识而设、为学生而设、自由教育、大学应提供普遍性与完整性知识教育及"知识本身即目的"等一系列观点,不仅对当时世界高等教育产生重大影响,探究纽曼的大学职能观、大学教育观、大学学生观对我国致力于建设"双一流"大学并发展成为世界高等教育强国的目标具有重要的启示意义.John Henry Newman,a British famous educator in the 19th century, served as president of Dublin University in 1852. After that,he gave series of speeches, which carries weight in world history of higher education. His university view includes that university should be held for imparting knowledge and for students. He also advocated liberal？education and ＂knowledge as its own objective＂. Besides, university should provide general and integrated knowledge education. It not only greatly influenced world higher education, but also afforded significant inspiration for our country to construct＂double first-class＂ university and hence to become a powerful nation of higher education.
