基于语料库的《中庸》两个英译本的翻译风格研究

摘　　要：本研究利用语料库方法和网络在线工具建立《中庸》英译语料库,从单词、语句和语篇三方面对理雅各和辜鸿铭《中庸》英译本的翻译风格标记进行统计分析,考察译本风格特征的异同。通过数据对比和分析,发现两个英译本的表达均通顺自然、译本整体用词难度和阅读难度趋于一致、上下文衔接自然、译本明晰化特征明显、文体均趋于口语化。相比之下,辜鸿铭译本词汇使用更为丰富多变、句法结构更加简洁、阅读难度稍低、可读性略胜一筹。In this paper,a Corpus of English version of translation is established by using a corpus-based approach and online tools.The stylistic markers of James Legge’s and GuHongming’s English versions of the mean are analyzed statistically in terms of words,sentences and texts,a comparative study of the stylistic features of the Chinese versions.Through the comparison and analysis of the data,it is found that the expressions in the two English versions are smooth and natural,the overall word difficulty and reading difficulty tend to be the same,the context cohesion is natural,the clarity of the translated version is obvious,and the style tends to be colloquial.By contrast,GuHongming’s translations are richer in vocabulary,more succinct in syntax,less difficult to read,and a little more readable.
