摘  要:自1913年始,美国著名教育学家孟禄先后14次来华访问,实地调查中国教育情况,与各地师生、学界名流、地方军阀、政府官员等各界人士进行了广泛的教育交往,举行了多场座谈、讨论、讲演活动。孟禄在华期间的教育交往,加速了西方教育思想的传播,指导中国教育改革进程;促成了中华教育改进社的成立,推动教育调查事业的发展;宣传了科学教育思想,助力科学教育的繁荣;促进了中美教育文化交流,为中国教育发展搭建桥梁,有力地推进了中国教育早期现代化的进程。Since 1913,the well-known American educator Monroe has visited China 14 times,investigated Chinese education,and conducted extensive educational exchanges with people from all walks of life,including teachers and students,academic celebrities,local warlords,government officials and so on,holding many seminars,discussions and lectures.Monroe accelerated the dissemination of Western educational thoughts through educational exchanges during his stay in China,guiding the process of educational reform in China;facilitated the establishment of China Education Improvement Society,promoting the development of educational investigations;propagated scientific education thoughts,advancing the prosperity of science education;enhanced the educational and cultural exchanges between China and the United States,building a bridge for the development of Chinese education and effectively boosting the early modernization of Chinese education.
