摘 要:基于语义三角理论,中华文化表述重新分为中华独特的指称、思维和语符表述三类。独特指称表述所反映的事物在另一文化体系里阙如,独特思维表述所体现的概念或思维与另一文化体系中的概念或思维有差异,独特语符表述与另一语言在语言符号形态表意上有差异。三类文化表述性质不同,其对应英译策略也各异。第一类常使用异化策略,旨在传播中华文化,第二类、第三类常使用归化策略,旨在实现语言、文化的沟通理解。Based on semantic triangle theory,Chinese cultural expressions are recategorized into three types:specific referent expressions,specific concept expressions and specific symbol expressions.The Chinese specific referent expressions denote specific referents in China which are absent in other cultures.The Chinese specific concept expressions denote specific concepts in China which are different from those in other cultures.The Chinese specific symbol expressions are morphologically different from those in other cultures.As to the English translation strategies of the three types of Chinese cultural expressions,foreignization strategy is often adopted in translating the first type so as to preserve and spread Chinese specific cultures globally,while domestication strategy tends to be used in translating the second and third type in order to understand Chinese specific languages and cultures.
