摘　　要：随着神经机器翻译技术的飞速发展和以ChatGPT为代表的生成式人工智能的崛起,机器翻译伦理问题日益凸显,为构建“负责任的机器翻译”制定相应的伦理规范成为当务之急。海伦娜·莫尼兹和卡拉·帕拉·埃斯卡廷主编的《构建负责任的机器翻译:伦理与法律问题探索》一书适时而生,从跨学科视角系统梳理了机器翻译伦理研究的最新进展。该书汇集了25位来自不同领域的专家学者的研究,涵盖哲学、伦理学、法学、社会学等多个学科,对机器翻译伦理问题进行了全方位、多层次的探讨。全书分为三大部分,聚焦机器翻译的哲学、伦理和法律问题,终端用户视角下的伦理问题以及社会影响层面的伦理挑战。该书具有鲜明的时代性、学科交叉性和前瞻性,不仅深入剖析了机器翻译中的数据偏见、知识产权、生态足迹等前沿议题,还探讨了人机交互中的伦理责任分配等复杂问题。With the rapid development of neural machine translation technology and the rise of generative AI represented by ChatGPT,ethical issues in machine translation have become increasingly prominent,making the construction of ethical norms for“responsible machine translation”an urgent task.Towards Responsible Machine Translation:Ethical and Legal Considerations in Machine Translation,edited by Helena Moniz and Carla Parra Escartin,is a timely and systematic review of the latest advances in machine translation ethics research from an interdisciplinary perspective.This book brings together 25 experts and scholars from various fields,covering multiple disciplines including philosophy,ethics,law,and sociology,providing a comprehensive and multilayered discussion of ethical issues in machine translation.The book is divided into three main parts,focusing on the philosophical,ethical and legal issues of machine translation,ethical issues from the end-user perspective,and ethical challenges at the societal level.This book is characterized by its timeliness,interdisciplinary approach,and foresight.It not only delves into cutting-edge issues such as data bias,intellectual property rights,and ecological footprint in machine translation,but also explores complex issues such as the allocation of ethical responsibilities in human-machine interaction.
