The Relationship Between Types of English Learning Motivation and Motivational Intensity --A Quantitative Investigation on Chinese College Undergraduates

摘  要:本文运用定量研究的方法 ,以 30所高校的 2 2 78名本科生为调查对象 ,分析了学生英语学习动机类型及其与动机强度之间的关系。研究结果表明 :1)大学生英语学习动机主要有七种类型 ,分别是内在兴趣、成绩型、情景型、出国型、社会责任型、个人发展型和信息媒介型动机。 2 )动机类型不同 ,英语学习的努力程度也不同。内在兴趣、出国、个人发展和信息媒介型动机越高 ,努力程度也越高 ;成绩型动机越高 ,努力程度反而越低 ;高社会责任动机组的学生在学习努力程度上分别高于中动机组和低动机组 ,但中动机组和低动机组之间没有显著差异。This research aimed to investigate the relationship between Chinese college undergraduates' English learning motivation types and their motivational intensity (learning effort). The subjects were 2,278 undergraduates from 30 Chinese universities. Seven types of motivation were found: intrinsic interest, immediate achievement, situational, going abroad, social responsibility, individual development and information media. Students with higher motivations of intrinsic interest, going abroad, individual development and information media made more effort in their English learning. The group 'high' in social responsibility motivation also made more effort than the 'middle' and 'low' groups, though the difference between the 'middle' and 'low' groups was not significant. In contrast, students with higher immediate achievement motivation made less learning effort. ? In this paper we give a detailed review about the effect of weak light on growth, photosynthesis of plants and its signal transduction. The adaptation way of plants to weak light environment and further research aspects of weak light stress physiology are suggested.
