摘  要:语用能力的培养在英语教学中的重要性是不言而喻的。英语的正确形式并不代表合适得体的英语,语用能力的欠缺必将导致语用失误。本文论述了什么是语用能力、为什么要培养语用能力和如何培养语用能力三个问题,并提出培养学生语用能力需从提高语用意识入手,语用原则必须纳入教学内容。It goes without saying that the development of pragmatic competence plays an important part in English teaching. Grammatical English sentences do not always stand for appropriate English. Students' deficiency in pragmatic competence is bound to lead to pragmatic failures. This paper mainly discusses the definition of pragmatic competence, why pragmatic competence should be developed and how. Conclusion is thus drawn that it's essential that the development of pragmatic competence start with the enhancement of pragmatic awareness and principles of pragmatics be brought into the content of English courses.
