摘　　要：社会特定的英语需求对大学英语的教学具有极为重要的,甚至是决定性的作用。因此,本文在对社会需求进行分析的基础上,阐述了大学英语教学的现状及存在的主要问题,并对其改革提出了一些设想和建议。The specific social needs for the English language play a significant, and even decisive role in College English teaching (CET). So in this paper the authors try to analyze the social needs for English and explain the present situation and the major problems of CET. Some proposals are put forward for the reform of CET.
