摘　　要：随着我国政治、经济、文化、科技等领域的发展和改革开放的不断深入,社会对外语人才的需求已呈多元化趋势,过去那种单一外语专业和基础技能型的人才已不能适应市场经济需要。因此,英语专业必须从单科的"经院式"人才培养模式转向宽口径、应用型、复合型人才的培养模式。本文拟从英国胡佛汉顿大学教育模式中寻求一些启示,探讨英语专业教学如何适应复合型人才培养的需要。The reform of foreign language teaching to foreign language majors is a hot topic among foreign language teachers and professors In the wake of developments in politics, economy, culture, science and technology, China needs foreign language graduates with multiple qualifications rather than only a good knowledge of foreign languages How to educate majors of English to be the right people for the society?
