2018年10月,于辽宁省新宾县岗山二道阳岔地区采集到15只鼩鼱标本,基于形态和分子鉴定,确认这批标本为远东鼩鼱(Sorex isodon).该物种为辽宁省兽类新纪录,是远东鼩鼱在我国的最南分布.不同地方的远东鼩鼱种群体色变异也被报道.
