摘　　要：韦克斯编著的《化学元素发现史》是一本图文并茂的化学史名著。张资珙于1933年开始翻译此书,1940年完稿,但迟至1952年才正式出版。他增补了约269个注释和41帧插图。特别是,他增补了与中国有关的注释和插图。他所做的既是翻译工作,又是研究工作。他的译本是一本风格独特的专题化学史译著。Illustrated and written with excellence by Mary Elvira Weeks, Discovery of the Elements is a best-seller. Chang Tzu-kung began to translate this book in 1933 and completed it in 1940, but it was as late as 1952 that the book was officially published. He supplemented his translation with 269 notes and 41 illustrations,especially the notes and illustrations related to China,in order to make it easier for readers to comprehend. What he had done was not only translation but also research. His version is a work on the history of chemistry which has a style of its own.
