摘　　要：本文依据劳伦斯.韦努蒂的归化和异化理论,从文化限定词切入,结合大量个案分析,详细阐述了《新世纪汉英大词典》中异化翻译策略的运用。本文认为该词典编者运用异化策略翻译汉语文化限定词,既是翻译本质的要求,也是双语词典翻译特性使然。《新世纪》中异化策略的运用将有力促进汉语言文化的对外传播,推动中国英语的发展。This paper, in light of the theory of foreignizing and domesticating translation proposed by Lawrence Venuti, presents a detailed analysis of the use of foreignizing strategy in translating culture-bound words in A New Century Chinese-English Dictionary. The paper argues that priority should be given to foreignizing strategy in translating culture-bound words, which is in accordance with the essence of translation and the special features of bilingual dictionary translation. The paper also insists that the use of the strategy is expected to promote the spread of the Chinese culture and the development of China English as well.
