辜鸿铭《论语》英译本中的视界融合

摘　　要：伽达默尔哲学阐释学重要概念"视域融合"在翻译理论和实践中亦有其重要意义。以辜鸿铭翻译《论语》的实践为例,辜鸿铭考虑到当时的中国国情和中西方文化之间的巨大差异,在追求视界融合的过程中作出较为积极、有效的选择,删除源语文本中不利于视域融合的部分,重视西方文化历史以拓展儒家思想的精华,为典籍英译提供了一种颇具参考价值的翻译方法。＂Fusion of horizons＂, an important concept in Gu Hongming＇ s philosophical hermeneutics, is also significant in translational theory and practice. Cite as an example Gu＇ s practice in translating The Analects of Confucius. Taking into account the considerable difference between the then national conditions of China, Chinese culture and occidental culture, Gu made a fairly active and effective choice in his pursuit of horizons fusion, deleting from the original what was unfavourable for the fusion and attaching importance to the occidental cultural history so as to expand the quintessence of the thoughts of Confucian school. In so doing he furnished translation of ancient Chinese books and records with a method of referential value.
