摘 要:从19世纪中叶至新中国成立的近100年中,大批西方传教士进入中国传教,并开办了一大批教会学校。这些教会学校普遍设置了英语课程,其教学注重因材施教,强调英语学习与随时随地的英语听说训练相结合,注重英语教学的全英语整体环境与氛围的营造,并与学生积极参加社会实践紧密联系。我国高职院校英语教学应积极借鉴近代教会学校英语教学的做法,使用全英文教材、全外教师资,创建全英文语境,通过强化口译和笔译使学生获得应用能力。During the nearly 100 years from the middle of 19th century to the founding of new China,lots of western missionaries entered China and built lots of missionary schools.The missionary schools set up the English curses univer sally,paid attention to implement the individualized quality education,strengthened the combination of the English learn ing and the English listening and speaking training anytime and anywhere,emphasized the creation of comprehensive eng lish environment and atmosphere and closely connected English learning with students' social practice activities,and had achieved the remarkable teaching results.Higher vocational schools in China should,in process of English teaching,draw lessons from the modern missionary schools,adopt pure English textbooks and pure foreign teachers,create pure English atmosphere and cultivate students' English-applied abilities by strengthening interpretation and translation.
