摘　　要：面向 2 1世纪的高校美育是当前美学界、教育界和广大群众都关心的重要问题。文章认为 ,审美素质历来是衡量一个人整体素质的重要尺度 ,它有着全方位的功能。加强美育是时代的需要 ,也是提升全民族精神境界的需要。面向 2 1世纪的高校美育 ,要以培养学生的审美鉴赏能力和创新能力为重点 ,既重视理论美育 ,又重视实践美育 ,培养学生具有高尚的审美观 。The esthetic education of colleges and universities is an important issue with which circles of aesthetic, education and the people all show their great concern.This paper holds that the aesthetic quality is always a vital criterion which evaluate the integral quality of the person and it has overall functions. Reinforcing the aesthetic education is quite necessary of the time. It also meets the needs to raise the spiritual level of the whole nation.The aesthetic education in colleges and universities,foucsing on cultivating the ability of both aesthetic appreciation and innovation of the students,should not only attach importance to the theoretic asthetic education but also to the practical aesthetic education. It is also necessary to train the students to be qualified with noble aesthetic ideas and improve them to perfect their personalities as well as help them to realize the goals of the people in an allround development.
