摘　　要：培养学生英语应用能力是各层次英语教学的重要目标。转变教学指导思想,改变教学模式,改变传统教学中重知识传授,轻技能培养的局面,是各阶段英语教学改革的必然选择。高职公共英语教学应改进教学模式、增加课程类别和形式,加强英语学习实用性,以此来满足社会对毕业生的英语需求。拓宽课程类型和课程类别,增加教学内容,加强语言知识和技能培养的结合点,深度融合基础英语和职场英语,建构高职公共英语工学结合教学体系是当前公共英语教学的重点和方向。It is the main task of English teaching of all levels to foster the students＇ practical ability. It is necessary for us to transform the guideline, mode, and overemphasis on knowledge. In order to meet the needs of the society, the teaching of public English must improve the mode, diversify the category and form of curriculum, enhance the practicality. It is the focal point and direction of public English teaching to enrich the types and categories of courses, add the new material, enforce the combination of linguistic knowledge and practical skills, integrate the basic and vocational English, construct the integrated system of work and study.
