摘 要:"预设"是交际过程中双方共同接受的事实或命题,"文化预设"是一定社会中以潜在假设形式存在的共同的信念和观点。一般情况下,译文读者的文化背景,包括其世界观、生活方式及行为方式的基本准则,都会有别于源语读者。所以,来自同一文化背景的人们不会出现的交际障碍,却可能会成为跨文化交际的拦路虎。为达预期翻译目的,译者必须要考虑两种语言间的文化差异以及译语读者对异域文化在理解与接受上可能出现的困难,在翻译策略的选择、具有特殊文化蕴含词句的处理以及译名的处理等方面,都作出相应调整。Presupposition is the facts or propositions accepted by both parties in the process of communication,and"cultural presuppositions"are shared beliefs and views in the form of latent assumptions in a certain society. Generally,cultural backgrounds of target language readers,including their world view,life-style and the fundamental norms of behavior,are different from source language readers; therefore,communication barriers that would not occur among people from the same culture may turn into a stumbling block in cross-cultural communication. In order to achieve the desired objectives of translation,it is necessary for the translator to take into account the cultural differences and the possible difficulties that may arise when the target language readers try to understand and accept foreign cultures in the process of translation,and make appropriate adjustments in the choice of translation strategies,in the handling of words and phrases concerning particular cultural implication and in the translation of proper names as well.
