电影字幕汉译的归化和异化策略探究——以美国剧情电影《我在雨中等你》为例

摘　　要：进入21世纪以来,人们生活水平不断提高,对精神方面的要求也不断提高。各种类型的影视剧开始逐渐成为人们娱乐生活的重要组成部分。例如美剧因其独具特色的文化背景深受国人喜爱,并且吸引了不少学者的关注,字幕翻译的研究因此应运而生。字幕翻译对观众串联剧情起到不可或缺的作用,好的翻译能促进各国的文化交流和传播,而要完全弥补异国的文化不对等带来的影响绝非易事。该文以美国剧情电影《我在雨中等你》为例,分析文化背景的差异及针对文化差异提出的归化、异化的翻译策略在字幕翻译中应用的可行性,并讨论了归化、异化理论在字幕翻译中具有的现实意义。Since 21st century,people's living standards have continuously improved,so does their spiritual requirements.Various types of films and television dramas have gradually become an important part of people's life.For example,American dramas are popular among Chinese people because of their well-made production,keeping pace with the times,and unique cultural background.And they have attracted many Chinese people's attention.Therefore,the study of subtitle translation has emerged as the times require.For one thing,subtitle translation plays an indispensable role in connecting the plot with the audience.For the another thing,good translation can also promote cultural exchange and dissemination among countries,but it is not easy to completely reduce the impact of cultural inequality in foreign countries.Taking the American film The Art of Racing in the Rain as an example,this paper analyzes the differences in cultural backgrounds and the feasibility of domestication and foreignization translation strategies proposed for cultural differences in subtitle translation.And it discusses the practical significance of domestication and foreignization theory in subtitle translation.
