摘　　要：杨宪益戴乃迭夫妇的英译《孔乙己》有1963年和1980年两个差异较大的版本。通过定量和定性对比这两个版本,可以了解译者的翻译风格特点和翻译过程中采用的原则与策略。在本研究中,定量对比聚焦两个版本在译文可读性上的异同,定性对比从词汇和句法层面比较修订版与第一版之间的差异。通过对比研究,以探索发现译者在保持忠实原文和表达流畅时的方法和策略。Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang’s translations of Kong Yiji in 1963 and 1980 are two distinctively different versions.In this paper,a comparison of the two by the same translators is conducted quantitatively and qualitatively to explore the translators’styles and their preferred strategies in Chinese-English translation.The quantitative comparison centers on the readability difference between the re-translation and the first version,while the qualitative study focuses on revisions at both lexical and syntactical levels.A conclusion is drawn regarding strategies and methods for staying faithful to the original text and improving readability by conforming to the conventions of the target language.
