摘　　要：西部外语教育改革应该如何应对全球化可能带来的现实与结果 ,转变传统陈旧的外语教学观念 ,大力改革课程设置 ,培养出符合 2 1世纪西部社会发展需要的复合型外语专业人才是西部外语教育成功的关键。The reform of foreign language education owes its success greatly to how foreign language education will handle the realities and results that globalization and China western development may have brought, how it will transform its teaching concept to cultivate multiplex talents for the development of the west. This paper examines the relationship between the development of western economy and foreign language education, analyses the current situation of foreign language education and then puts forward feasible suggestions to the reform.
