深度翻译视阈下中国典籍翻译——以《列女传》英译为例

摘　　要：刘向所著《列女传》作为中国首部妇女专史,深刻反映了中国传统社会伦理价值观念,更构建了影响深远的道德教育框架。安妮·贝恩克·金尼所作Exemplary Women of Early China:The Lienü Zhuan of Liu Xiang是刘向《列女传》的最新英文全译本。该译本综合运用多种深度翻译策略,注释丰富细致,副文本详实深厚。通过从文本内、文本外两个维度进行考察,发现金尼在译本正文中添加方括号夹注及尾注化解读者的阅读障碍,加深读者对中国历史文化的理解。在译本正文外,译者通过添加引言以及其他多种形式的副文本,补充丰富的历史文化信息,提升读者对译本的接受度和认同感。该译本为全球化语境下综合应用深度翻译策略,推动中国文学、文化“走出去”提供了可参考范本。As the first biographical document focusing on women in Chinese history, Liu Xiang’s Lienü Zhuan wholly reflects the social and ethical values of early China, and builds a far-reaching framework for moral education. The Exemplary Women of Early China: The Lienü Zhuan of Liu Xiang by Anne Behnke Kinney is the newest complete English version of Liu Xiang’s Lienü Zhuan. This translation comprehensively employs various thick translation strategies, featuring rich and meticulous annotations as well as paratexts. By examining both intra-textual and extra-textual dimensions, it is evident that Kinney added bracketed annotations and endnotes within the main text to alleviate readers’ comprehension barriers and deepen their understanding of Chinese history and culture. Outside the main text, the translator supplemented the work with an introduction and other forms of paratexts, providing additional historical and cultural context to enhance readers’ reception and identification with the translation.
