摘　　要：要实现我国教育从应试教育向素质教育的转向，其中心环节就是要改变我们现行的教学目标、教学观和学习观。素质教育的教学目标、教学观和学习观为外语教师提出了新的挑战，它要求外语教师应具备良好的心理素质，树立“促进学生全面发展”的现代教育理念，建构自主、合作、创造的课堂教学模式，确立“终生学习”理念，不断提高业务素质，以适应培养高素质创新人才的需要。The key factor in the shift from the examination oriented education to the quality oriented education is to transform our existing teaching objectives,teaching concept and learning concept.The quality oriented education poses new challenges for foreign language teachers.The foreign language teachers should possess good psychological qualities,build up a modern educational concept of all round development of the students,construct a classroom teaching module of autonomy,cooperation and creativity and establish a lifelong learning concept so as to meet the demands of training top quality and creative talents.
