摘　　要：翻译教学和教学翻译是一对不同的概念,在不同的教学阶段要有不同侧重。当前国内翻译发展的形势要求对英语专业本科生的培养采取翻译教学的模式,为此,在教学内容上必须相应地进行全面而合理的设计,在教学策略上要注重启发诱导,注重用实践导出理论。＂Teaching translation for its own sake＂ and ＂teaching foreign languages through translation＂ should be distinguished at different levels of translation teaching. As the current situation of domestic translation world demands a pragmatic approach,the mode of ＂teaching translation for its own sake＂ should be adopted in translation teaching for English majors. So the teachers should pay more attention on proper and complete organization of the teaching content and at the same time his teaching strategies,especially stressing enlightening students and guiding them to the theories through practice.
