摘 要:认知语言学家认为转喻是一个概念现象和认知过程,并在同一理想化认知模式内运作;转喻由相对突显的原则提供理据;同一认知框架中的概念实体以结点连锁激活相关概念实体。试从转喻的认知角度简单分析几本中医典籍中的转喻数例,继而附以相对合适的英译,旨在总结出符合中医典籍中转喻的认知模式的英译方法,为其它中医典籍中相关的翻译提供指导。Cognitive linguists hold the idea that metonymy is a conceptual phenomenon as well as a cognitive process, working within the same Idealized Cognitive Model (ICM). Metonymy also indicates that one salient feature mentally ac- cesses another features of an entity or the whole entity and one conceptual entity activates other related entities through one -point -to -another chains within the same cognitive frame. This paper tries to analyze the metonymies in several Chinese medical classics from the perspective of cognition and give them proper translation examples, aiming at finding out some relevant English translation methods in correspondence with cognitive models and offering guidelines to all the translations of metonvmies that can be found in Chinese medical classics.
