摘　　要：本文在对“素质教育”的产生背景及其涵义详细论述的基础上 ,比较和评价了现存的两种译文 ,并提出了作者认为更为合理的译文。同时提出应该把译文的“适用性”作为审核译文质量的必要步骤之一。This paper compares and comments on the two existing versions of '素质教育'after presenting a detailed analysis of its background and connotation and tries to give a better version. The author also points out that ensuring the suitability of translation is an essential procedure of translating.
