摘　　要：典故翻译中的“欠额”现象是影响译文质量的主要问题之一。如何进行典故翻译中的欠额补偿?本文试图从分析典故翻译中的欠额翻译会引起原语典故在民族色彩、形象性、联想意义等几个方面的损失入手,探讨如何减少和避免这些损失,以使典故翻译尽可能保持原语典故的独特魅力,使译文忠实地传达原文信息。Underloaded translation is one of the major problems affecting the quality of allusion transla-tion. How do we make up for the loss in underloaded translation? Pointing out that underloaded translationwill cause the loss of national flavour, image and associative meaning, the author of the paper attempts todiscuss ways of how to reduce or avoid the loss, with a view to retaining the unique charm and transferringfaithfully the information of the original allusion.
